When to See Whales in Mauritius ?

The window to know for whale watching on the west coast.

Mauritius offers some of the most accessible whale watching in the Indian Ocean, off the west coast. You just need to come at the right time.

The humpback whale season

Humpback whales migrate along the west coast from June/July to October-November. That's the best window to hope to see them, usually peaking in August-September.

Sperm whales, almost all year round

Unlike humpback whales, sperm whales are present for much of the year off Mauritius, with sightings possible outside the humpback season. Outings often combine whales and dolphins.
