Blue Bay: a coral Eden

Blue Bay: a coral Eden

The Blue Bay lagoon transports us into a world of its own, miraculously untouched by fishing and other human activities. The underwater landscape is absolutely sumptuous: coral gardens in their purest splendor, populated by marvellous aquatic species. A boat trip is required to unearth the most enchanting reef areas, where our teams have witnessed the idyllic existence of butterfly fish, Moorish idols, damselfish… An immersion in a veritable natural aquarium!

Trou d’Eau Douce: a dazzling spot

On the east coast of Mauritius, at the starting point of Ile aux Cerfs, nestles one of our favorite snorkeling spots. This is where we like to stop while exploring Île aux Cerfs. Wearing our mask and snorkel, we dive into the aquatic tableau, painted in the turquoise hues of the lagoon, to discover a breathtaking spectacle. With its shallow, clear waters, the spot offers breathtaking views of parrotfish, surgeonfish and other species competing in color.

La Pointe aux Piments: a turtle sanctuary

Pointe aux Piments is one of the best places to see turtles in Mauritius. This spot is home to a prodigiously diverse underwater life, marked by large concentrations of logfish and damselfish. During our recent explorations, we enjoyed long hours in the warm waters of Pointe aux Piments, capturing unforgettable moments with the turtles.

Flic en Flac: heading for safety

Looking for a family marine exploration in Mauritius? So, one name must be obvious: Flic en Flac. The lagoon is absolutely calm, and the gently sloping beach is a paradise for spotting parrotfish, boxfish, wanderers and horned zancers. All this in a natural aquarium with the majestic Morne Brabant as a backdrop!

La pointe aux Canonniers: easy boarding

Pointe aux Canonniers stands out as one of the few snorkeling spots in Mauritius accessible directly from the beach. You only need to stray a few metres from the shore to start spotting the colourful corals and their colourful tenants. On our last visit, we had the incredible privilege of coming across a sea turtle – an epic encounter!

Grand Gaube: a mix of landscapes

If you’re planning a stay at LUX* Grand Gaube, you’ll be delighted! From where you’re staying, you’ll have the chance to get close to a sensational array of snorkeling sites that never cease to dazzle with their beauty.
